How is the MA assessed?

Updated over 2 months ago

The MA Creative Practice uses practical, portfolio-based assessment rather than traditional dissertations.

Assessment Methods

  • Creative projects and portfolios — your actual creative work

  • Production diaries — documenting your process and research

  • Reflective journals — critical reflection on your practice

  • Prototypes — demonstrating experimentation and iteration

  • Research projects — combining research, practical work, and evaluation

  • Interview — discussing your creative process (Major Project only)

No Dissertations

Your graduation project is about making art that speaks for itself. You're assessed on creative projects, reflective diaries, and portfolios — the real substance of your creative practice.

Experience Counts

The programme values your creative skills and experience, not just academic credentials. Your portfolio speaks louder than grades or test scores.
